Yo!! I finally sat down to properly set up this part of the website! Welcome to my lovely entries :-) I don't know how updating people on things is going to go. It's been a long time since I was making site entries like this, but it'll probably be the same level of vague out-of-context yammering as before. I can be vague and out-of-context yet simultaneously really specific, right? Yeah. I've probably still got it.

For my first update I should definitely bring forward some actual update material, so! It may be fitting to say that we're in a position to give the story a name! A REAL name. The name that it'll be published with. We've been kicking some things around for a few months now and it's not been easy, now that the story actually has solid form, haha. Just naming it after a vague concept won't cut it anymore. But we might have landed on something! Whether or not I get to update the site (and wherever else) with it depends on if Kess ends up liking it too, and that'll take a little bit of chewing on it. So no promises.

As well, we have plans to start doing a first draft of sorts once Kess finishes college, so that's exciting!! The most that we have to flesh out at this point is smaller details and questions that would best be answered with more in-character nuance, and that would probably best be helped by actually seeing how things fit together in a written context. There's some things you won't know about a story until you're actually writing it. I'd phrase it as, we have the script, and now we need the storyboard. I'm ready for it because I don't know how many times I've gotten into the shower and thought about doing a first chapter "just to see how it would be." I'm crazy. I'm crazy! Ahaha!

Of course, I'm still gonna be (trying to) work on MHYH. Lately I've not had the Writing Spark, because it's been sort of a difficult story to write in general, but I think that's just the nature of me trying to learn to fully write a story on my own. The Deal has existed for upwards of 6 years, but the real work on it has been going on for about 3, and that's been with more or less consistently collaborating on it with someone I get along with really well. I've always had a tough time with completing stories on my own, let alone writing them into a fully coherent narrative, so being able to finish it will be one heck of a milestone for me.

Aside from that there's not much new I could divulge, given that I haven't been making entires anywhere on story progression for ages, so anything new I'd have to say would have no point of reference, aside from the about page I've got here. I mean, I guess it would be just as out of context as anything else? So it might not matter in the grand scheme actually. Whatever!

Maybe what I'd say then is that it's become a story about Halloween and Food. Because Halloween is a holiday where you eat. Not like Thanksgiving or Christmas of course, but that's part of the point I believe. At least, the point with this particular story. It was actually a toss up between whether it would be themed around Halloween or Christmas. They're both Holidays with a strong motif of candy after all.
